Experienced Service Plumber

Department: Service Department
Location: KAPAA, HI

Kauai Air Conditioning & Plumbing is seeking a hard-working and motivated Service Plumber to join our team. Being on time, reliable, professional, and willing to take initiative is essential. Candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail, computer literacy, and effective problem-solving abilities.

The Service Plumber is responsible for performing service, troubleshooting, and maintenance on residential plumbing and light commercial systems. This includes diagnosing issues, completing repairs, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring all work meets company quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically skilled, and committed to delivering high-quality service while representing the company with professionalism.

Job Functions

  • Responsible for repairing leaks, clogs and other problems in piping systems. Troubleshoot issues by inspecting the system and using diagnostic equipment such as leak detection devices and sewer cameras. Once they identify the problem, they make repairs using various techniques.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as inspecting pipe systems for leaks, testing drain traps for clogs, descaling water heaters and solar panels.
  • Install new plumbing appliances, fixtures, and piping.
  • Create and provide estimates to operations team for various plumbing repairs.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed and materials in CRM.
  • Arrive at the jobsite at scheduled time and location as dispatched.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including explaining repairs and answering questions.
  • Read and understand SOPs for specific tasks.
  • Perform work with a focus on Safety and Quality.
  • Follow all codes and regulations, including building codes.
  • Always maintain professional appearance and attitude.
  • Communicate effectively with office, lead, and contractor when necessary.
  • Work as a team - practice honesty and transparency, take responsibility for your actions, be flexible, work together to identify issues/problems and develop solutions.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized job site.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work vehicle.
  • Take personal responsibility for safety performance and program compliance.
  • Familiarize yourself with proper tools and various materials used at jobsites.
  • Any additional duties/responsibilities deemed necessary.

Job Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of Plumbing experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate with a variety of personality types.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to complete work on a deadline.
  • Motivated to learn all that is necessary with the repair and maintenance of Plumbing systems.
  • Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple issues.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30 - $55, Based on experience
